Artist Research
We have decided to use Insomnia by Ben Hesketh for our music video. This is because we can have direct information about the song from the artist himself.Ben Hesketh is a 22 year-old graduate from De Montfort University in Leicester. He graduated with a first class degree in Music Technology and Innovation. He used the skills he learnt to record his own music in his flat in Leicester with one microphone.
Ben Hesketh does not currently have any music videos for his songs therefore we will be creating the first one. This is because he is un-sign independent musician and therefore may not have the budget to create one for himself. Due to this issue we will analyse music videos within our gene (electronica).

Insomnia Lyric Analysis

We have done this lyric analysis because it will give us a better idea of how to come up with a narrative for the song. This will ensure that our music video is relevant to the song. In order to have a full understanding of the song we must first understand the lyrics.

Unfinished Storyboard
Here is the unfinished version of our storyboard. From here, we will continue the storyline of the flashback.

Blame - lip sync practice
Here is a video we have created to help us practice our lip syncing skills before we film our actual music video. This has helped us learn what the problems are and how to over come them. It has also shown us how long it takes to sync up a small amount of a song.
Here is the original music video:

Why are we practising lip syncing?
The reason we have made this video is to help us with our own music video. From this task we have learnt how to successfully lip sync and make it look like the artist in the video is actually singing therefore making the music video look more professional. We have also learnt how to edit videos and still consider important aspects such as lip syncing.
From this task we now know the importance of lip syncing and how it makes music videos look more professional and of a better quality. We can incorporate these skills when we begin to film and edit our own music video.
